      Ulaanbaatar

      Your driver will meet you at the airport, and you’ll be staying at a centrally located hotel in the heart of the city, with everything conveniently nearby.

      Ulgii

      After breakfast, we’ll catch a flight to Ulgii, the capital of Mongolia’s Kazakh nomads. There, we’ll visit the local museum and shop for supplies in preparation for our upcoming journey through the national park. Later, we’ll drive to meet eagle hunters and experience their unique lifestyle firsthand.

      Oygor Valley

      We will drive to the national park, stopping along the way at the Milky White River, known for its naturally white waters. Afterward, we’ll continue to Oygor Valley, home to local Kazakh families.

      Altai Tavan Bogd national park

      This national park is home to Mongolia’s highest peaks, ranging from 4,050 to 4,374 meters above sea level. Its name comes from the five prominent summits: Huiten, Nairamdal, Burger, Malchin, and Ulgii. We’ll embark on a 5 km trek to enjoy stunning views, and if you’re up for it, we can set up camp and stay overnight in this beautiful setting.

      Oygor Valley

      In the morning, you’ll wake up to breathtaking views and have the chance to explore the surroundings, including capturing the stunning Russian Altai Mountains. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

      Baga Turgenii Khurkhree 

      After a relaxing break in nature, we’ll drive to another stunning location—a waterfall. The landscape is often compared to Switzerland, though the climate and environment are quite different.

      Ulaanbaatar

      Today, we’ll drive back to Ulgii for our return to Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival, we’ll visit two must-see sites: Gandantegchinlen Monastery and Sükhbaatar Square.

      Terelj

      On your final day, there’s still more to explore. We’ll visit Tsonjin Boldog, home to the impressive Genghis Khan statue, the largest equestrian statue in the world. Situated in a stunning location, we’ll also take the opportunity to visit a Mongolian local family to experience the traditional nomadic lifestyle, as we’ve primarily explored Kazakh culture until now. Afterward, we’ll return to Ulaanbaatar.

      What need to know before travel

      Nestled in western Mongolia, Altai Tavan Bogd National Park is celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty and towering peaks. Visitors can explore stunning landscapes, encounter diverse wildlife, and immerse themselves in rich cultural experiences. This park is a haven for trekkers and nature lovers, offering a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility in its pristine wilderness. Even in summer, the highest peaks remain capped with snow.

      The flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii takes approximately three hours. During your 5-day stay in a ger guesthouse, you will enjoy a unique cultural experience, with the option to stay in a camp if you prefer.

      Please be mindful of outdoor activities and dress appropriately for the weather. Meals will feature local, fresh ingredients, typically served as one large meal at a time. While in Ulgii, you’ll mostly enjoy Kazakh dishes, and in Ulaanbaatar, traditional Mongolian cuisine. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know.
